Breakfast and the table d'hôtes (evening meal shared with your hosts), prepared with organic produce, are served in the dining room or under the arbour, depending on the season.
This town of around 4,700 inhabitants, with 2,100 hours of sunshine a year, lies in the Marais Poitevin (drained marshland) between land and sea, in the former Gulf of the Pictones, on the edge of the Vendée, at the gateway to the Venise Verte and close to La Rochelle and the Île de Ré. It offers the paradoxical landscape of a large port in the middle of the countryside, which ocean-going ships could still reach until 1990.
